The Blues Babe Foundation was formed for the purpose of nurturing college-bound students of color, artistically and academically. The aim of VUOTS is to preserve the future of the disadvantaged, underprivileged and underserved urban areas of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by promoting and providing the supportive educational environment and appropriate resources that will allow them to continue to thrive as safe, vibrant, and productive communities.

The Society to Preserve Philadelphia African American Assets (SPPAAA), a 501C3 organization, will act to increase awareness and advocate to preserve Philadelphia African American history as represented by historic and culturally significant assets (properties, murals, monuments, placards, cemeteries, and archeological sites). Help out when you can and be an advocate.

Founded in May 2002, ​The East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention serves as a primary literacy & arts initiative using comic books as a focal point.

Our office serves as both the Register of Wills and the Clerk of the Orphans’ Court. As part of our work, we: Issue marriage licenses and keep marriage records dating back to 1915; Probate wills, which proves that they're valid; Issue letters of administration when a Philadelphia resident dies without a will; Keep records of wills, estate inventories, and related documents; Act as an agent for filing and paying inheritance taxes; Maintain the dockets and records of the Orphan's Court.

BSCCA started in the year 2000 and has progressed over the years. BSCCA began with a group a neighbors who would come together and clean the streets the evening before trash day. BSCCA continues to be a strong force in our neighborhood. BSCCA has done a number of works to better the neighborhood and bring resources to our community.

Bloody Btches | Reimagining body & sexual liberation through communal spaces curated for Black Menstruators to engage in art and conversations about menstruation, sexual health, pleasure, and liberation. We also provide free menstrual products and hygiene products to our community members.

The North Philly Peace Park is open, charitable, intergenerational, neighborhood-managed ecology campuses championing food, education and community.

We provide assistance with a range of programs which come together to ensure people are able to stay in their homes, update their houses, keep their utilities on, and get access to any opportunities to improve the quality and energy efficiency of their homes.

Strawberry Mansion CDC (SMCDC) is a community-based non-profit located in North Philadelphia. Established in 2004, our mission is to promote sustainable revitalization through residential, commercial, and economic development; historic preservation; and the empowerment of the Strawberry Mansion community.

WEBSITE. Located near the intersection of 23rd Street and Ridge Avenue, this branch serves North Central Philadelphia, Strawberry Mansion, Brewerytown, Sharswood, and the Johnson Homes. Formerly the Columbia Avenue Branch, the avenue and the library were renamed in 1987.

The Glorious Gamma Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, chartered in March 1918 at the University of Pennsylvania, was the third chapter of the Sorority to be established. The Gamma Chapter also made history as the first Black Greek organization founded on University of Pennsylvania’s campus.

WEBSITE. Today, Woodford, a National Historic Landmark, is owned by the City of Philadelphia and operated by The Naomi Wood Trust as a historic house museum. The interior of the house is furnished with 17th-, 18th- and early 19th-century decorative and fine arts acquired by the collector Naomi Wood and the Trust established in her name, including one of the finest collections of 18th-century Philadelphia-made furniture to be found anywhere.

We are dedicated to improving our city's environment by organizing community-based cleanups, advocating for policy changes, and fostering a culture of pride in our neighborhoods.

Heritage CDC exists to attract and support resources beneficial to enhancing and sustaining quality of life in North Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia Chapter of the Pierians is a local chapter of the Pierians which is a national organization with a vision to support excellence in artistic expression, cultivate the creative and imaginative skills of our youth, advance the careers of aspiring and emerging artists, and increase audience appreciation and participation in the Arts.

WEBSITE: CPI introduces Philadelphians, who “love where they live”, to the activities of city planning, zoning and development so they can help shape and preserve their neighborhoods.
CPI’s main activity is an eight-week course, offered every spring and fall, to a new and diverse group of thirty residents who brings new-found skills and resources back to their neighborhood organizations.
